چکیده

These lines are the intersections of the plane through the point p in the world and the centres of the left and right cameras with the two camera focal planes (see Figure 1). These epipolar lines are formed by the intersections of the pencil of planes through the line joining the image centres with the camera focal planes. Hence such lines form a pencil passing through the point of intersection of the line of centres with the focal plane, we will call this point the epipolar base point. The condition that all possible lines m = Epi form a pencil is satisfied only if rank(i?) < 2, but this follows from the non-linear constraint on E that det(E) = det(T) det(R) 0.

Optimizing Disparity Candidates Space in Dense Stereo Matching

In this paper, a new approach for optimizing disparity candidates space is proposed for the solution of dense stereo matching problem. The main objectives of this approachare the reduction of average number of disparity candidates per pixel with low computational cost and high assurance of retaining the correct answer. These can be realized due to the effective use of multiple radial windows, i...

Fast Stereo Matching Using Rectification and Correlation Techniques

F This paper presents a new method for matching points of interest in stereoscopic. A self-calibration is realized by using points of interest on both images in order to estimate the fundamental matrix from which we can compute both projected matrices related to each camera. We propose a robust and fast rectification technique for matching points of interest in order to simplify the research on...

A multistage stereo method giving priority to reliable matching with self calibration by stereo

This paper describes two topics: one is a reliable feature-based stereo matching method which determines more reliable matching pairs earlier and determines less reliable ones later using the previous results, and the other is a reliable calibration method for small vertical displacements. A feature point is an edge. The contrast, the position, and the direction of the edge are used to evaluate...

The In uence of Radiometric Correction on Stereo Matching

We present preliminary results connrming the importance of radiometric calibration in multicamera applications. We review systematic and random noise in the video sensor (camera/frame grabber). The manifestation of background noise in dark images, and xed pattern noise in at elds are illustrated. Through a at-eld correction of an uniform intensity stereo image pair an improvement of 26% to 59% ...

On-line Stereo Self-calibration through Minimization of Matching Costs

This paper presents an approach to the problem of on-line stereo self-calibration. After a short introduction of the general method, we propose a new one, based on the minimization of matching costs. We furthermore show that the number of matched pixels can be used as a quality measure. A Metropolis algorithm based Monte-Carlo scheme is employed to reliably minimize the costs. We present experi...

A study of stereo microscope measurements based on interpolated feature matching.

Recently, digital stereo microscopes have been becoming increasingly popular in fields such as biomedicine and biotechnology. As such, being able to precisely match left/right feature pairs is critical, which is an important step in stereo matching. We hereby propose a dynamic interpolation method that combines two dimensional calibration and depth information to achieve stereo matching. In thi...
